The Restoration Dev Logs

During the development of the Restoration Of Sonic.exe mod, the Co-Director Sulonam wrote on multiple occasions a monthly summary of the changes and additions that were constantly happening. But, due to the lack of time and interest, Sulonam abandoned this tradition a long time ago, the motivation to continue writing these things was not enough and keeping up with the amount of changes became extremely complex.

However, Sulonam took the decision to upload all the Dev Logs he once wrote so that all the public can see them without problems and can be informed of the status of the project in different areas. At the same time, in this blog entry you will be able to see the last Dev Log of RoSe Update 1.0 as a closure of this section of the development until the mod is released on its respective date.

RoSe Dev Log N°1 (07/07/2023)

• All the Source Code of the mod was leaked thanks to Mr. Half & Revisited, who tried to kill the project and victimized themselves by saying that we were saying bad things to them, when they were talking shit about us all this time. However, this situation ended up with the leakers doxing themselves, we got triple the support we already had and the collab + friendship with Revisited was broken, distancing us from them completely

• We met a guy who pretended to be the owner of Coldsteel, which fooled the entire Sonic.exe community lol

• We met the real Awe, who gave us full permission to add all her Sonic.exe related music to RoSe!

The Final Dev Log Until Release Edition (12/04/2025)

• The Restoration Family has been officially renamed to “Thornbite Studios”

• There are around 300 Planned songs for the entire mod!

• Despite all that has happened, we are still determinate and standing to finish this massive project, even if several devs already want to retire from modding altogether

• A new Twitter account was created, and after only one week of existence, it was deleted due to drama (Bad idea to have created it)

• A lot of people are obsessed with Treno (Did he kill their grandmother or something?)

• There are certain people who have started recording things from the devs without permission and people who upload certain content without the permission of the devs, I am quite disappointed

• The RoSe Funkipedia has getting a lot of support, even if sometimes it totally breaks

• All the servers of the development team had improvements in their organization. At the same time, the respective Mains of each category (In Charting: Cherry, Obscuryth, Starz & Raimbow) (In Music: Kawaii & Exe) (In Art: Treno, HyperDream & Estaguy) (In Code: Merphi, Sulonam, SonicPlay & Wolfie)

• SonicPlay, Wolfie & Estaguy became the Co-Co Directors of the mod!

• The first and only Help Wanted Event happened! And many new people have joined the team, even outside of this event, like Alice, Stimbo The Third, KincitoBytes & Genko Vich!

• The A Restorable Help short is done and available in the Triple M and Co. channel

• The "For Restoration!" Meme become the official watermark + The RoSe Entities become official Triple M and Co. Characters!

• Some very close friends made a Christmas gift for the mod, a song called “Blood Festival”, which is available in YT and it will be added into the mod!

Development of Update 1.0

• The entire mod code will be rewritten and reworked to fix bugs, improve the efficiency of creating the code itself, simplify things, add new functions, improves for the optimization and re-organization of the game files (Mobile, Linux and Mac ports will be affected by this rewrite)

• Almost all of the mod's menus will have improved designs and their own music themes + New menus were created for Player Statistics, Trophies and Cursor Skins.

• The Co-Director Sulonam is mainly focusing on both Charting & Music category + Focusing on Act Stanzas, Credits, Icons, Renders & Story/Encore/FP Arts to get a huge part of the content done and to have a completely free path once he concentrates only on the heavier things of the dev, like Sprites & BG's

Development of Update 1.5 & Development of Update 2.0

As you may have noticed, we have not talked about the development of both updates since RoSe's 1st Anniversary, because we have been completely focused on the development of Update 1.0 and left all the planned content under wraps.

However, after discussions among the Directors, we decided in the end that Updates 1.5 & 2.0 (The original plans) have been totally cancelled. The reason for this is that due to the amount of time and content we have invested in Update 1.0, we realized that 2 more updates of this caliber would be too much to bear in terms of mental health, time and availability, so Update 1.0 will be the only giant update of the mod.

But, all the content that was planned for Update 1.5 & Update 2.0 will come in the future as songs packs or inside update patches (All future content is already split, so any suggestions will be ignored).

Secret Songs & Characters

To finish with all the Dev Logs, I would like to talk about this new concept that we incorporated in the mod, which presents content and surprise characters that can make an appearance in any update.

To unlock them, you must look for the respective secret render in the Main Menu and press the respective object found there. Once you win the song, it will be fully available in the FP.
